Doda April 21
All Parties Development Front, (APDF), has given a bandh call across Doda district on April 26 in protest against the government’s failure in fulfilling the long pending demands of the people. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the Front here today. The demands which have been raised several times have not received any favourable consideration forcing the people to observe a bandh in support of the demands, the Front said.
The demands made include setting up University campus at Doda town, grant of Chenab Valley Hill Development Council for Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar Districts, early completion of Doda-Dessa -Kapran road, grant of Tehsil status to Bhagwah, Marmat and Mohalla, creation of separate Assembly Constituency for Siraj, besides early completion of Marmat-Chenani road.
Among others present in the meeting were Mohammad Ashraf Zargar, Naiz Ahmed Azad, Kul Bhushan Gupta, Abdul Rehman Gattu, Ishtiaq Ahmed Dev and Ghulam Hassan Tak.
