JAMMU, June 30: Opposing the move of shifting of 10 MVA transformers, Bahu- Fort residents once again held a protest demonstration.
According to press release, Hundreds of Bahu-Fort dwellers Gheraoed the Shri sunil Gupta, SE PDD, Shiv Daya Kotwal Xen, Sub Transmission PDD and S Gurmeet Singh Xen MRE Gandhi Nagar, who was came to move the said transformer from Bahu- Fort Sub Transmission Receiving Station to Sub Transmission Receiving Station Nanak Nagar.
The locals raised slogan against the move of Power Development Department (PDD). They also held local MLA, Raman Bhalla responsible for said move and neglecting Bahu- Fort area. While Speaking with PDD authorities, Rajeev Charak, Convenor, State Training Cell BJP said that after fighting a long agitation for more than 18 months, the department installed this transformer just few days back in Bahu Fort and now shifting it again to some other area is mockery with the people of the area.
"We are already facing 22 hours prolong electricity load shedding while with shifting the transformer the power crisis in the areas will further be increased" one of the protester said. However, after listing the locals grievances PDD officials postpone its shifting for the time being and returned back. |
