| NMC urges CM to amend SRO 64 | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 30: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to the Chief Minister to bringing about required amendments in SRO 64 and take decision in the next cabinet meeting is being held very shortly to pave way for regularization of all casual need base seasonal laborers, contractual Adhoc deployed in various departments, offices/public sector undertakings of the State Govt. since long urging him to look this matter personally an on priority so that these workers may be regularized before the enforcement of model code of conduct due to ensuing assembly election in the state likely to be held in a few months. Addressing a Demands Day rally of NMC workers at Rani Park here, Shastri said that these daily rated workers facing serious financial hardships due to inflation and price hike as their services have not been regularized for the last 18 to 23 years nor they are getting their salary in time adding that about fifty five thousands families are involved with these daily wagers forming parts of state electorate and these voters are ikely to play major role in the coming election. He also urged that sincere efforts at the level of Chief Minister are required to take such a bold initiative to regularize the services of these poor daily rated workers. |
