| Bovine smuggling bid foiled | | | Jammu June 30: Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid at Samba while rescuing 14 bovines from the clutches of bovine smuggler.
According to police sources, on specific information about bovine smuggling, a police team laid and naka and started checking of vehicles in a locality falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal.
"Meantime on seeing police, the truck driver managed to escape along with the vehicle from the spot and later intercepted at Main Chowk of Samba. "Police recovered 14 animals and seized the truck bearing registration no. JKO2AC-8569 and registered a case for further investigation, police sources said.
