JAMMU, June 30: Sagoon Club won the Sangar Challana Cricket Tournament beating Challana Cricket Club by six wickets in the final played at Sangar grounds in Nagrota constituency, near here. After winning the toss and decided to bat first, Challana Club made 57 runs in given 15 overs, which, in reply, Sagoon Club chased making 58 runs in 9.5 overs for the loss of four wickets. Abhinash Sanyal adjudged man of the match for making highest 27 runs while Gajan Singh adjudged man of the series. Gajan scored 76 runs and took six wickets. In all, 15 teams from in and around village Sangar took part in this knock-out tournament. The winner team awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 by chief guest, general secretary of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Rakesh Wazir. Among others present were Sarpanch Mohan Lal, Karan Singh, OP Sharma and Ravi Kumar. |
