Kishtwar, June 30: In a bid check for violations of traffic rules, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Kishtwar Azhar Ammin Zarger along with Motor Vehicle Inspector Azad Hussain today conducted surprise checking on Dool and Sinthan routes and booked 21 traffic rules violators. According to official spokesperson, during day long drive, around 50 vehicles were checked out of which 21 were challaned for various traffic offences like overloading, without fare list, use of mobile etc. "During the course of the checking, ARTO noticed that a number of carriage vehicles were taking student's, families etc on picnic without seeking prior permission, spokesperson said while adding, "ARTO taking strong notice directed transporters to seek prior permissions." ARTO Kishtwar said that besides enforcement, traffic awareness is an important part to prevent accidents and underlined regular awareness programmes in School and Colleges etc. to create awareness regarding road safety. He also said that a joint enforcement and awareness program along with District Police will also to be carried out shortly. |
