| VRS employees stage protest, demand pending dues | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 30 : Employee under the banner of VRS Employee Union today lodged a protest outside press club Jammu and demanded release of their pending dues. Dev Raj Bali, President VRS Union and S. Surinder Singh, General Secretary strongly criticized the adamant attitude of Finance Department of J&K Government and Transport High authorities towards the VRS/GHS employees of J&K SRTC for not releasing their pending dues. They said the National Conference-Congress Government in the state have uprooted the roots of democracy from the state as they were protesting for their rights since last four years but till date they have not been given their pending dues. He said during the long course of struggle eight VRS employees have died due to want of proper treatment but the deaf ears of government have paid no heed towards their genuine demands. They appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene into the matter to release the funds which are lying with the finance department and has amounted to Rs 30, 16, 10,673.00 at an earliest in favour of VRS/GHS employees. |
