14 bovines recovered, six arrested

Akhnoor police today arrested three bovine smugglers and recovered 8 bovines from their possession when they were on their way to Srinagar from Akhnoor. Meanwhile, Banihal Police also arrested three bovine smugglers and recovered six bovines from their possession.
According to reports, police booked specific information of bovine smuggling in the area and on the information a police team on the direction of DySP Akhnoor Atul Sharma swung into action and laid a naka in the area. At the naka, police intercepted a truck no JK11-1902 and recovered eight bovines from the vehicle which were being smuggled to Srinagar. Three person namely Ram Chand, Prem Chand and Mohd Sayeed were immediately arrested and sent to police station for further interrogation.
Meanwhile, another bid to smuggle bovines was foiled at Banihal after the arrest of three person and recovery of six bovines from the vehicle they traveling in. Those arrested were Mohd Yaqub, son of Resham Din of Parnote, Nazir Ahmed, son of Mohd Shafi of Talab Tillo and Mohd Ashraf, son of Ghulam Din of Gangyal.
