| J&K Poultry Association submits memorandum of demands | | Alleges outsider running Contract farming in poultry sector against norms | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 30 : Jammu and Kashmir Poultry Association today submits memorandum of demands to the concerned quarter alleging some businessmen from outside the state to run their contract farming business in poultry sector against the norms. They alleged that some companies whose owner are not permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir State are running Contract Farming in Poultry Sector which is a component of Agriculture Sector in Jammu Division particularly in Kathua, Samba, Jammu and Udhampur Districts. They further alleged that these persons are doing Contract Farming through their companies namely Star Foods Pvt. Limited Phagwara (Punjab), Amrit Hatcheries Pvt. Limited Kolkata, Venkey's India Limited Pune and Chick Chick Traders Pathankot. Further they blamed that these companies have no registered Office in the State of Jammu and Kashmir and have not registered as a contact Companies in Agriculture Sector in Jammu and Kashmir till date. "These companies are indulging in malpractices by taking blank cheques from the poor farmers in name of security indemnity bonds, land record, which is totally illegal and only giving Rs. 4 Per KG to poor farmers for rearing the birds for forty days including electricity charges, water charges, heating and cooling charges, litter charges which are borne by the farmers", they blamed.They said that local farmers who have been working under seed capital scheme are suffering because of these outsiders and if they are not stopped on time, it will be hazardous for the farmers of the state. |
