| Teenagers' death in road mishap: Parents raise finger at Police' investigation | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 1: As the police has failed to crack the death of two teenage brothers after being hit by unknown speedy vehicle even after a lapse of month, the parents of the deceased have raised finger at Police's investigation as till date the accused is still at large. Addressing the press conference, the parents of the deceased said, "it seems police is just hitting about the bushes instead of taking lead in the 'hit and run' case resulting into the death of two teen brothers. Raising finger of suspicion on the investigation, the aggrieved parents flanked with family friends today said, "Earlier they were given assurances by police that the person who crushed their wards to death would be arrested and now police said that they are collecting the evidences to prove the case." However anchoring hope upon the senior police officers, the parents of the deceased said that they will direct their ranks at Nehru Market Police under whose jurisdiction the tragic accident took place to expedite the investigation. "As the concerned police have utterly failed to secure the arrest of the accused even after a month of incident, the aggrieved family members demanded constitution of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to further investigate the case. Pertinently, two teenagers namely as Saurab Kumar Bali (19) and Aman Bali (16) were crushed to death when the two- wheeler they were riding was overrun by a speeding vehicle during the wee hours of on 31 May at Asia Chowk . Both the teenagers were taken to hospital where doctors said they were brought dead. Meanwhile, SP South Rahul Malik when contacted expressing heartfelt sympathies to bereaved family said that police has left no stone turned to crack the tragic case and police even had lifted about 30 drivers of the area, scanned CCTV camera footage and even inquired about the incident from the security guards posted with the Asia Hotel. "But all turned in vain, he said adding, "investigation is still in progress as the investigation in such cases of hit and run is often time consuming." |
