Jammu, July 1: Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and seized a bovine loaded truck at Narwal here today while the manhunt is on to apprehend the accused who managed to give a slip to the police team. As per police sources, the incident took place in the early morning hours when a Tata Mobile bearing regd no: JK02S/7525 was intercepted by police men on naka duty on National Highway at Narwal. During search of the vehicle, police recovered 6 bovine animals loaded in the vehicle, meanwhile the driver of the vehicle escaped from the spot. "Police have registered a case in this connection, police sources said adding that a massive manhunt is on to nab the absconding accused. |
