| Scrap dealer arrested, 10 quintal Army supply chain recovered | | | Jammu | Apr 23 Narwal Police today arrested a scrap dealer and recovered ten quintals of heavy duty chain meant for Army supply while Army personnel managed to flee when Police raided the spot. According to reports, police booked specific information regarding the sale of heavy duty chain meant for Army supply to a local shopkeeper at Yard no 6, Narwal by some Army personnel. On the receipt of information, a police team led by Incharge PP Narwal Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SP South Zahid Manhas and DySP Mamta Sharma swung into action and raided the spot. in the raid about 10 quintals of heavy duty chain was recovered from a shop at Yard no 6 and arrested the shop keeper namely Ashwani Kumar Mahajan, son of Late Chuni Lal of Nanak Nagar while the Army personnel selling the chain managed to flee from the spot. During the interrogation, arrested shop keeper told police that Army personnel had sold the said quantity of chain to him. Meanwhile, Police has registered a case in this regard and investigating the matter. It is to mention that large quantity of Army supply materials were recovered in the past also from the said area.
