| Non-teaching employees protest enters 20th day | | | Jammu | Apr 23 The on-going Kaam Chhodo Hartal of College non-teaching employees entered 20th day today in protest against non-implementation of written agreement with regard to University Central Pay Scales w.e.f. 01-01-1986 to remove the anomalies of different cadres of non-teaching staff i.e. Lab Staff, Library, Clerical, Technician, Asstt. P.T.I. and Class – IV Employees. They are also demanding immediate issue of new SRO regarding departmental norms of various cadres, formation of G.C.E.T. norms. regularization of Local Fund employees having completed 07 years service, D.P.C./ Promotion orders of various cadres. Today a demonstration was held at GGM Science College, Jammu where the striking employees of various city colleges assembled and protested against the failure of Government Higher Education authorities to concede the just and genuine demands of college non-teaching employees and forcing them to come on streets. Ram Kumar Sharma – state chairman, while addressing the protesting employees briefed them about his visit to the striking non-teaching employees of Kashmir Valley and took a firm resolve to fight unitedly for the cause of college non-teaching employees. Others who addressed included Sh. Paralahad Singh Chib, Sham Lal, Bhushan Lal Pandita, Rakesh Puri, Sanjeev Koul, Rakesh Kumar and warned the Government Higher Education Authorities to concede the demands of the employees immediately otherwise the agitation will be further intensified. In Srinagar city, the demonstration was held at S.P. College where the striking non-teaching employees of city colleges expressed serious concern over the continued adamant behavior of the Government towards the genuine demands of the employees. Those who addressed the rally included Javaid Ahmed – State President, Abdul Hamed, Baba-State Secretary, Kamlesh Parimoo – Pub. Secretary and others. Similar rallies and demonstrations were held in different districts where unit secretaries Pankaj Kumar (Poonch), Abdul Hamid (Rajouri), Sudesh Bhagat (Kishtwar), Ashiq Hussain (Doda), Rajinder Kumar (Udhampur), Hans Raj, Romesh Kerni (Udhampur), Baldev Raj (Akhnoor), Rakesh Kumar (R.S.Pura), Rajesh Kumar (Kathua), Ashok Kumar (Bhaderwah) addressed the gathering of striking employees.
