Jammu, July 6: Police unearthed a racket involved in black-marketing of poly pouches, arrested four persons and recovered 36 pouches from their possession at counter no.2 in Katra.
Police identified the arrested as Raju of ward no 2 Katra, Romesh Kumar Muncipality driver of Udhampur, Raju alias Guchu of Chousakote, Reasi, Som Raj alias Shushu of Katra.
Police sources said that on specific information team led by Inspector Sanjeev Mahajan, SHO Katra and SI Vikas Jasrotia under the supervision of SP Katra, Kulbir Singh raided counter no. 2 and arrested four persons. "During frisking, team recovered 36 poly pouches from their possession which they were selling as mobile party at late hours of Saturday", said sources.
SP Katra, Kulbir Singh said "Arrested opted new modus oprendii of delivering the poly packs to the customers after conferming the deal on mobile phones".
In this connection a case under FIR no 157/14 under section 48 -A excise act 188 RPC have been registered at Katra police station. Further investigation of the arrested is on to ascertain identity of their other associates if any.
