Poonch , July 6: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, based at Lower Krishna Ghatti, under Romeo Force distributed Sewing Machines to the needy women of far flung and remote village of Khanetar and adjoining areas, today. The sewing machines were presented by Sajjad Ahmed Khan, DDC Poonch, at a function attended by the various civil and military dignitaries.
The sewing machines provided by the Indian Army would help the women in acquiring skills which could make them active earning members of the society.
Speaking on the occasion, Sajjad Ahmed Khan thanked the Army for this thoughtful gesture. Mohd Yaseen, Sarpanch of Khanetar also thanked the Indian Army and said that such initiatives would generate trust and goodwill between the Army and Awam. |
