Kathua, July 6 : People of entire belt of Kumri, Kathera and of adjoining six panchayats of kandi belt are made to suffer on account of poor and shambled road of 4 Kilometer from "Pla to Jasri" with the negligence of PWD despite the funds released by NABARD in village Androte of Panchayat Kathera. While interacting with the correspondent of Early Times, the residents Nand Lal, Punjab Singh, Dashan Singh, Mashu Ram, Rahul Kumar, Manohar Lal, Panch Lekh Raj, and Taj Din, Gyan Singh, expressed their resentment against the government administration and PWD for being held the road poor and shamble and said this road is as bad as it was in 2007 when its construction was started. The road project of worth 3.75 crores according to which 4 KM road from Pla to Jasri had to complete but the construction of this road was started years ago and still pending due to which the road is still in shambles as it has not been finished in time and even maintained. There is massive anger and resentment against the government, Administration and PWD, residents said. They said that the connecting road from Pla to Jasri is the life of six Panchayats Bala-Sundri, Athhonthyalta, Bora, Juthana, Channmuqtar, and Kathera with more than 5000 population. They also pointed that many other link roads in the area which have not been cared for years and are now in total collapse conditions. They said, repeated representations and appeals did not bear any fruits. Even promises by the Ministers and MLAs of the ruling coalition too have failed to provide any relief. It has forced the people to come on roads to register their anger and seek justice, residents said. Administration and PWD along with politicians too are responsible for the condition of road. In response to media over the issue, MLA Charnjeet Singh assured the preparation of road will be made to enable the road to use in two months and also pointed out the negligence of concerned department which is totally failed to break the nexus of engineers and contractors that leads the public suffering. |
