Thousands pay obeisance at Sarthal temple on 2nd day

KISHTWAR, July 6: Thousands of people belongs to different walks of life on the eve of 2nd day of annual yatra of Mata Ashta Dash Bhuja (Goddess with eighteen arms) commonly known as Sarthal Devi Mata paid obeisance at Sarthal temple.
As per old age tradition, thousands of devotees from different parts of Kishtwar District assembled at Gohri Shanker Mandir Sarkoot on the outskirt of Kishtwar town & participate in prayers and havan before the yatra left for Sarthal village.
On this occasion, Sarthal Devi management under the leadership of its newly appointed Vice Chairman Sanjeev Parihar along with District Administration Kishtwar has made elaborated arrangements for Yatries. Today morning and in the evening special pujja were performed in which thousands of people participated. The yatries will start returning back to their homes tomorrow morning.
Earlier on day one of the yatra, members from Muslim community including Riaz Ahmed Zarger, President Public Awareness Front (PAF) Kishtwar Shakir Hussain Siddiqui, PDP leader Sheikh Nasir Hussain and others also welcome the yatries at Dak Banglow Chowk Kishtwar and extended his greetings to Hindu brothers on this auspicious occasion. On this occasion a special tribute was also paid to deceased Congress leader Thakur Jughal Bhandari who also remains the Vice Chairman of the trust till he died early this year.
The Chandi Hawan which started three days earlier was also concluded today and in addition to this, Hawan, Bhajan-Kirtan were also performed.
