| HM district commander among three militants killed in valley | | | Srinagar April 24 Three militants including a HM district commander were today gunned down in separate encounters across Kashmir valley during last twenty fours, official sources said.
Sources informed that a district commander of HM outfit was killed by troops of 11 RR in Kutasatri Forest in Bandipora area of North Kashmir, Identifying the slain militant as Nazir Ahmad Lone alias Usman, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, of Chunti Mohalla, sources said the militant was active in the area for past some time.
One AK 47 rifle, 3 magazines, 20 rounds and 1 grenade were recovered from his possession. Police has registered as case in this regard
Meanwhile, acting on specific information, about the presence of a militant, a joint team of Police and 6RR launched an operation in village Dogripora Vilgam in Handwara are of North Kashmir .
During the search operation, the hiding militant fired upon the troop which was retaliated. In the ensuing encounter one LeT militant was gunned down.
One Ak-47 Rifle, one Magazine, 30 rounds of ammunition and one UBGL were recovered from the site of encounter.
Similarly, another militant was killed, after Police along with 21RR; acting on a tip off launched a search operation in village Ahagam-Zachaldara of Handwara.
Sources said that a group of militants hiding in the village, in a bid to escape towards jungle fired upon the troops. However, acting swiftly the troops retaliated and one HM militant was gunned down in the ensuing encounter.
The slain militant was identified as Abdul Ahad Dar alias Hyder son of Mohammed Abdullah Dar resident of Ahagam.
One AK-56 Rifle, Five magazines, 90 rounds of ammunition, one Radio Set and one mobile were recovered from the possession of the slain militant.
