| BJYM protests over denial of job to locals in Rattle Hydel Project | | | Kishtwar, July 11: Bhartiya Janta Yuwa Morcha (BJYM) today staged massive protest at Drabshala to register their resentment against GVK and L&T Managements for denying skilled and unskilled jobs to locals of Kishtwar town and its peripheral areas. The protestors also forced GVK and L&T managements to shut the work at project site this afternoon. Led by senior leader Shashi Badyal assembled at Drabshala and staged massive protest over denying jobs to locals of Kishtwar town and its peripheral areas. While talking to "Early Times", Shashi Badyal said that despite repeated request to the project management and administration, the local youth of Kishtwar district are being denied jobs in the project forcing them to take to the roads.
Without naming sources in project management, the BJYM leader also alleged that majority of the youths engaged in the project were made on the direction of local MLA Ghulam Mohammad Saroori and Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo. BJYM leader said that they have warned the project management against starting work at project site without considering jobs to locals from Kishtwar town and adjoining areas and further warned stir against project management from tomorrow. He said that BJYM will start its agitation from Char Chinar tomorrow. BJYM delegation also called on ADC Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik and apprised him about their grievances. Prominent who addressed protestors include Anjju Sen, Vijay Badyal, Akshay Kumar, Khushi Mohammad, Sumit Kumar, Sajan Badyal, Nisar Lone, Jaffar Hussain and others. |
