Early Times Report Jammu, July 12: Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh NCP president J&K state has welcomed the India's stand that UNO group in J&K is irrelevant and has no role in Kashmir after Shimla agreement and entire country welcomed this move of central govt which has asked a United Nations military observer group on Kashmir to vacate a government-provided bungalow in New Delhi and consider Kashmir as an integral part of the country In his statement, Singh welcomed Indian foreign ministry's decision on Tuesday asking UNMOGIP to hand over the Delhi premises from where it was running a liaison office for more than four decades free. "Foreign Ministry spokesman said that as far as we are concerned the UNMOGIP has outlived its relevance," Singh said. While welcoming, the Indian stance, NCP Chief categorically said that the presence of UNMOGIP troops in J&K was the legacy of British imperialism, which they left behind after leaving India in 1947 after dividing India and Pakistan. He condemned the role of successive central govts, starting from Nehru who committed biggest blunder after going to UNO. Recalling from past, he said, "during his personal interaction with two members of UN in Srinagar and they have frankly admitted that they have contributed nothing, except for the directions given to them , accepting representations from the public which are occasionally where we are helpless this clearly indicates that this organization (UNMOGIP) have outlived its utility and should be back to their respective countries . |
