ITI electrical diploma holders hunger strike enters 12th day
4/24/2007 11:47:31 PM
Jammu April -24
The hunger strike by the ITI Electrical Diploma Holders, seeking absorption in government service on ReT pattern, entered the 12th day today. The protesting ITI trained students have criticized the government for its apathetic attitude towards their demands and maintained that despite availability of posts, the PDD was not appointing the trained electricians for the reasons best known to the authorities.
President of unemployed ITI Electrical Diploma Holders Association Sunil Sharma in a handout claimed that MLA Samba, Y P Kundal, who met the striking diploma holders assured his full support for their genuine demands.
The Association has made it clear that if the government failed to concede their demand, they would intensify their agitation and organize a mass protest rally outside the Divisional Commissioner’s office here on April 27.
The agitating diploma holders are demanding adjustment on the pattern of Rehbar -e-Taleem Scheme adopted in several government departments and have again sought Chief Minister’s personal intervention in the matter.
