| Confederation of SC/ST/OBC organizations holds conference | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 13: A day long pro-reservation conference was organized here today by the state unit of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations. The core cadre of the Confederation and various social, political and religious people from all parts of the State participated and shared their knowledge to introspect and to make strategies for mobilizing the resources to maximum limit.The conference was presided over by the national Chairman of the Confederation and Member of Parliament Dr Udit Raj who was felicitated by the President of the State unit R K Kalsotra.A memorandum citing demands at the central and state level was also submitted to the Prime Minister of India through the Member of Parliament. A memorandum listing demands at the state level was also sent to the CM of the state.Dr Udit, Raj, while addressing the participants, stressed upon unity, paying back to society, spirit of sacrifice and strengthening the support system of the Confederation. Stressing a collective effort for winning the struggle, he emphasized that a single person can only give direction but cannot bring about the change desired in a system and the SC/ST/OBC's of the nation have brought this change by contributing to the change of power at the centre.Kalsotra, while speaking on the occasion, said that he gave the slogan "Jo hamari baat karega woh Delhi me Raaj Karega" before the parliamentary elections and now on the eve of the assembly elections he is calling upon them to adhere to the same slogan for upcoming state elections too. He, however, said that the Confederation will still give a final chance to the incumbent government to accede to their demands. |
