| Rehman Rahi felicitated, Bimla’s book released | | |

Prof. Rehman Rahi was felicitated here today in an impressive function organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, culture and Languages. He was felicitated by the academy for his contribution towards the art, culture and languages and for which he was honoured by “Jnan Peeth Award”.
“The Silence within” English translation of Kashmiri Poetic compilation “RESH MALYUN MEON” by Bimla Raina was also released on the occasion.
Mohammad Yousuf Taing, former Director General Culture presided over the function whereas Shyam Koul, noted Journalist, Prof. Lalit Magotra, Dr. Shuhab Inayat Malik and Bimla Raina were also in the presidium.
Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, Secretary, J&K Cultural Academy, said that it is a historical occasion that one of the finest son of the state is being felicitated. Dr. Masoodi also described Bimla Raina as one of the pioneer of Kashmiri Literature and her contribution is really praise worthy.
Prof. H. L. Misri well known scholar and Dr. R.L. Bhat presented the papers on the book of Ms. Bimla Raina “The Silence Within”.
Mr. Shyam Koul, Mr. Lalit Magota and Dr. Shuhab Inayat Malik also spoke on the occasion and lauded the role of Prof. Rehman Rahi and Ms. Bimla Raina.
M. Yousuf Taing, in his address described Prof. Rehman Rahi as a living legend and his contribution to the society is very difficult to compare with any one. He lauded efforts of Bimla Raina in the field of Kashmiri literature.
The proceedings of the functions were conducted by M. Ashraf Tak, Editor Urdu Persian.
