| Refugees take out massive protest rally | | |

A protest rally of refugees of 1947, POK/West Pakistan, 1965 and 1971 taken out from Press Club to cross the border to reach their home places in Pakistan and POK.
This rally was taken out as a mark of protest against the failure of the state government to provide basic rights to the people.
The said rally was held by Rajeev Chuni, Chairman, SOS and Labba Ram Gandhi President, West Pakistani Refugees.
About 5000 refugees took part and started their March to Suchetgarh Border, R.S. Pura. The leaders of various Sikh organisation of J&K including S. Mohinder Singh, Chief Organiser, Bhai Kanaiya Nishkam Sewa Society, S. Paramjeet Singh President, AISSF J&K, Dr. Gurmeet Singh Senior Refugee Leader and S. Kulwant Singh, Chief Advisor Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Jammu also participated in the rally.
The refugee leaders strongly criticized the State and Central Government for not including any member of the Refugee Community in the Round Table Conference.
The participants said the State police and forcibly stopped the rally near Gadigarh which being lead by Rajiv Chuni Chairman, SOS and Labha Ram Gandhi, president 1947 West Pakistani Refugees. They said that both the state and central governments has failed to settle their issues even after 60 years time.
They said that about five thousands refugees have participated in the rally. They have decided to cross the border but the police have not permitted them to go away. They further s aid that the refugees should adopt drastic steps in future if their voice is not heard. They said that neither Congress nor NDA is serious about their problems. They also said that they are ready to sacrifice if their demands were accepted. They further criticized for not allowing the Refugees to cross the border and arrested them.
