| Govt. employees ask for fulfillment of demands | | | Jammu | Apr 24 J&K Joint employees Federation and Jammu Kashmir Government Employees Joint Action Committee in a separate meeting held here today have taken serious note of non-serious attitude of the government for not fulfilling the genuine demands of the employees, pending before them since long. According to a press release, issued by the parties, employees are facing lot of difficulties due to price hike of essential commodities. They urged upon the authorities to release the 6 pc D.A installment in favour of state employees immediately, an enhancement of retirement age at par with centre Govt. employees. Among other demands discussed during the meeting was the inclusion of ousted employees of Excise and Commercial taxes deptt., who are on peaceful dharna for the last 84 days are waiting for re-employment orders, grant of B-1, status to Jammu and Srinagar cities, grant of Rs. 2000 as an interim relief in favour of the employees report. In the meeting, activists of the both the wings urged upon the government that the qualifying service for pension benefits should be 21 yrs only. They also demanded absorption of all the anganwadi Workers, helpers and regularization of RET teachers. The Employees Federation asked the govt. to full-fill all the genuine demands so that the confrontation between the employees and the government one these accounts is avoided, beside all the re-trenched employees be re-employed as they are facing worst condition during these hard days. Leaders of both the organization appealed the state govt. to concede the just and genuine demands of the employees. Nazir Ahmad Bhat, General Secretary of J&K employees federation and Anwar Beig, convenor joint action committee presided their respective meetings.
