Kishtwar, July 20: Two persons, including a retired R & B employee, were critically injured in a head-on collision near block office Kishtwar on ever busy Malipath-Kuleed road here today.
As per the details, the incident took place at around 6.30 pm when over speedy motorcycle ramped into the other motorcycle coming from opposite direction, resulting in critical injuries to Mohammad Younas Malik (60 yrs) son of Mohammad Khalil Malik resident of Malik Market Kishtwar and another person identified as Ankush Kotwal (24) S/O Satpal Kotwal R/O Kotwal Mohalla Kishtwar. Ankush Kotwal was sitting on the pillion seat of the motorcycle of the accused who hit the motorcycle Mohammad Younas Malik.
As soon as the accident took place, large number of people assembled at the spot and shifted both the critically injured persons to District Hospital Kishtwar from where doctors refereed both of them to Government Medical College Jammu for advanced treatment. Both the injured have received head injuries. The accused motorcyclist who tried to escape from the spot after committing the crime was over powered by the people and handed over to police. Police registered the case under relevant sections of law and arrested the accused. |
