Jammu, July 20 : A woman tried to end her life by jumping into the river Tawi when she was returning from her parental house along with her brother after lodging complaint against her husband for harassing her.
The victim has been identified as Nirmal Kour wife of Jaspreet Singh of Gadigarh. Police sources said that Nirmal along with her brother went to the Women Cell for lodging complaint against her husband who allegedly harassed her. While returning, when they reached on Tawi Bridge Nirmal jumped into the river.
After getting the information police immediately reached the spot and shifted the woman to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) where she was undergoing treatment when last reports came in. Police said that further investigation in this regard is on. |
