| Holy Cross Convent defeats K.V. Miran Sahib | | | Jammu | Apr 25 In the inaugural match of the tournament, Holy Cross Convent R.S. Pura, defeated K.V. Miran Sahib in the Anti-drugs/Anti-intoxication Awareness cricket Tournament by 19 runs in a well contested match, organised by J&K Rural Sports Club in collaboration with K.V. Miran Sahib being played at K.V. Ground Miran Sahib. Holy Cross Convent won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 123 runs in 15 overs, whereas K.V. Miran Sahib followed to chase the score. They were all out in 12 overs scoring 104 runs. Amit Sharma hit 28 runs in an over with the help of 3 (sixer) 2 (four) and 2 (singles) from K.V. Miran Sahib. Holy Cross, Rakesh’s bowling attacked collapsed the batting order of K.V. Miran Sahib and he got 3 wickets in two overs. Earlier Z.N. Manhas S.P. South, Jammu was the Chief Guest of the function and he declared tournament open. While interacting with players, he advised them to spread this message against this evil in the society. Narinder Singh, President J&K Rural Sports Club highlighted the objectives and aims of the campaign. Sneh Lata officiating principal thanked the Chief Guest for sparing his valuable time and encouraging the youth/ students. Daljit Singh Bhatia of J&K Rural Sports Club and Sanjay Nagar and Ajay Kumar officiated as technical experts and Empires. The next match will be played between J&K Rural Sports Club (Combined players team) V/s Holy Cross Convent R.S. Pura at 8:30 AM tomorrow at K.V. Ground Miran Sahib.
