| Kam Chor Hartal on May 15 and 16 | | Government employees held mass dharna | | Jammu | Apr 25 Hundreds of employees representing various Government departments of Jammu region held a mass Dharna in front Divisional Commissioner’s office under the banner of J&K Workers and Employees Joint Associations Committee. The dharna was organized to focus the attention of State Government to concede the long pending genuine demands of the employees. As per press release State Government was strongly criticized for its hollow and false promises made by the coalition government headed by Ghulam Nabi Azad, who has miserably failed on all fronts and has ignored the problems and demands of the State Government employees. While addressing Ram Kumar Sharma, Convenor, S. Jaswant Singh General Secretary, J&K Workers and Employees Joint Associations Committee, Mohd. Gafoor Dar, President J&K National Trade Union Front, Balwan Singh Jamwal, President J&K Ladakh Teachers Federation, Ganesh Khajuria, General Secretary, J&K Teachers Forum, Balwinder Singh, President PHE Employees Welfare Association, Deva Nand Gill, President JMC Civil Employees Association, Ravi Singh President Geology Mining Employees Association, Mohan Lal, President J&K Work Supervisors Association, Dharminder Singh, President Medical Employees Federation (O), Uttam Chand, President J&K Non-gazetted Agriculture Employees Association, Rehmat Ullah Malik, Generally Secretary J&K Clerical Staff Association, Hari Singh, Organizing Secretary, J&K United School Teachers Association and Rashpal Singh Mallah, strongly condemned dilly delaying attitude of the State against the just and genuine demands which are pending since long and has brought the employees on the confrontation path. The representatives of the employees warned the Government not to play with the sentiments of the employees and thus provoking them to launch an agitation path. The employees demanded early release of 6% D.A. installment. Implementation of 6th pay Commission simultaneously with the Central Government and also grant of Rs. 1000/- interim relief till the outcome of 6th Pay Commission. Enhancement of wages and regularization of daily wagers, contingent paid, local fund Rehbar-e-Taleem, Rehbar-e-Zirrat, Anganwari workers, contractual and adhoc employees, who have completed 6/7 years service before and after 1994 and etc. If demands are not met, employees have decided to go on “Kam-chor” Hartal on May 15 and 16. The Employees Joint Associations Committee and various fraternal organizations extended wholehearted support to the ongoing strike of College non-teaching employees, which has entered today in 22nd Day.
