Bani (Kathua), July 22: Continuing his endevour to strengthen party at grass root levels, senior congress leader Rajneesh Sharma popularly known as 'Mian' organized a monthly meeting of prominent Congress Workers, Panch, Sarpanch and intellectuals at Machedi of Bani constituency of Kathua district.
Workers of Malhar block also participated in the meeting and a series of delegation of locals called upon Congress leader 'Mian' and apprised him about their problems and issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajneesh Sharma 'Mian' expressed his gratitude to all participants and said that theirs impressive gathering is the indicator that morale of all the party workers is high and have very high hopes from the party leadership.
Highlighting party achievements under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, he reassured his full, cooperation, help and service to all the inhabitant of the area. He exhorted all the party workers to gear up for the coming assembly elections. Earlier during the meeting local raised issues regarding the development of Malhar block and Machedi, especially the road network. They urged the visiting leader that road up to Machedi is in shambles and can cause any eventuality. Majority of speakers appreciated Rajneesh Sharma's efforts to get work started on Machedi - Badnota road.
They also demanded a proper and adequate supply of ration and electricity to the area. Appreciating the sincere efforts from Rajneesh Sharma for welfare of people in remote constituency, the speakers demanded from the Congress High Command to field Rajneesh Sharma in the coming assembly elections from the said assembly segment. They said that Sharma has all the qualities of a good leader like his father Pt Mangat Ram Sharma and is equally popular among the party workers and general masses in the Bani assembly segment.
