| Optimal utilization of SRTC assets must for making it more profitable: Hakeem | | |
Jammu, April 25
Minister for Transport Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has said that the present system in the SRTC needs to be changed to make the corporation a viable and profitable institution.
Speaking at a high level officers meeting here today, the Minister called for maintaining discipline among various cadres of employees of the corporation adding that if available resources are utilized properly, corporation as well as its workers would get immensely benefited. He directed to purchase spare parts from the reputed agencies saying that over Rs. 2 crore were spent for purchasing of spare parts by the corporation during last financial year.
The Minister directed to intensify the checking system of the SRTC passenger buses and added that coded tickets must be issued to the passengers. He also asked the authorities for maintaining history sheets of buses to avoid their misuse. He said the work shops of the corporation set up at various places would be made fully functional to provide quick services to the vehicles.
The meeting took several decisions to improve the functioning of the corporation so that better passenger services are provided to the people across the state.
