| Govt. thumbs down better prospects for180 SIs of 1995 batch | | Facing stagnation since 12-years of appointment | | Jammu April 25 Either it is the odd numerology or some oracle that proved unlucky for the Young officers recruited as Sub-Inspectors in JKP (Executive) in 1995, who are stagnating to the same post after 12 odd years in comparison to the batch recruited in 1998 (Armed), a leap year which has received promotions. Inspired by the khakis and disciplined uniform life, they joined State Police to make their dreams come to true in 1995 as Sub Inspectors but still are stuck to the same rank while in a sharp contrast their juniors recruited in 1998 have been promoted just after six years of services in 2006, sources said. Highly placed sources revealed that 180 sub inspectors were recruited somewhere in January 1995 (Executive) and they have been evaded from promotions for the last twelve years of their services at various positions in the department. Disgruntled over the denial of their due recognition of their devoted services especially during the phase when the militancy was at its peak, this lot has reasons to fume over the stagnation of ranks meted to them for unknown reasons. As the lady luck failed to smile for this lot of young officers- a victim of official apathy, on the other hand the three-year junior batch i.e. recruited in the year 1998 could be considered lucky enough for being doled with promotions in 2006, sources added. They further added that just within the span of eight years the fresh batch from which majority had assisted the seniors from the odd Batch of 1995. It needs to mention that the 95-batch of Sub Inspectors being seniors and experienced hand held the pilot seat in the anti-insurgency operations. Further sources mentioned that as many as 20 percent to 25 percent fortunate juniors from 1998 (Armed Batch) even won the musical chairs game and found themselves fitted in superior chairs and found themselves as SHOs while same percentage age tried their luck in traffic wing of the police on senior positions. However it is a pity and regrettable that the senior batch still is delusioned and is walking towards a mirage to get some remuneration from the concerned higher authorities bartering their dedicated duties since last 12 years. Going beyond, the sources hesitatingly said that of these 180 Sub Inspectors (Executive Branch) a very few about one sixth i.e. 30-35 may get some deputations/promotions in return of their committed duties. ‘It is better late then never, the batch is hopefully looking forward the sops offered to few short listed lucky ones among them with a hope that bad oracle is in its last phase and sunny days are ahead for this lot also, sources underlined. There is an old saying ‘All Is Not Quiet On Western Front’ and thus it is worthwhile to mention that in the absence of rational policies it is not the lower cadre upto Sub Inspector rank that has been victim of the government’s apathy but the higher ranks like the Dy SPs (KAS) even after the completion of their probation too were kept waiting for over fourteen months for their respective postings in recent past.
