Budgam villages suffering due to Govt apathy
4/27/2007 11:22:17 PM
Srinagar, Apr 27
The villagers of Jawallapora, Budgam and its adjoining areas in Budgam dist. continue to remain without basic necessities of life since long although crores of rupees has been shown expended under Budgam dist. Plan.
Yet a casual survey of the said villages
reveals a pathetic tail. A visit to the village reveals that the sole link road connecting the villages with the dist. Head Quarter is in complete shambles with no one to take cognizance of the same.
Thousands of people have to tread long distances to catch a bus to reach there places of Destination and the employees and the students are hard hit and are worst sufferers.
The road got damaged due to the haulage of the earth by the contractors engaged
By Railway project authorities, who had deployed hundreds of tippers to cart earth from Budgam Kreva.
The PHE division Budgam has laid pipes but not connected it with any dependable
source of potable water. It is generally observed that failure of public health engineering deportment to provide clean water has lead to spread of water borne diseases in the villages of Kashmir.
The villagers of Hardiwail, Gogra, Hillimishon, Bandibagh complained against PDD for not replacing old power conducters which have outlived their utility.
The villagers have been moving from pillar to post to impress upon the PDD engineers to ensure regular supply
of power to their villages but no concrete step has been taken so far.
The state govt. has been claiming to have widened its network of schools in
the state but its unfortunate that the genuine demands for the construction and upgradation of middle schools to high schools has remained unaddressed for the last several decades.
The middle school existing in the area is inadequate to meet and provide education to the growing populace of the villages and the students have to
seek admission in higher classes at dist. Headquarter.
