| CSD demands immediate release of irrigation water | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 30: Expressing serious concern on the bad conditions of the canals of Vijaypur areas, Congress Sewa Dal (CSD) President Samba Raj Kumar Bhagat criticized the local administration for not releasing water for irrigation purposes. Addressing press conference, Raj Kumar said that the farmers were not getting water for irrigation at the time when planting of paddy crop is in progress due to which farmers are suffering a lot of difficulties.
He alleged that despite the fact that region has received very low rain till date which is inadequate for paddy crops. He urged the government that keeping in view the paddy crops season the irrigation water supply should be regularized and the condition of the canal should be improved so that the canal water can reach to the field of the farmers. Other who were present on the occasion included Ajit Raj, Tilak Raj and Surinder Kumar. |
