| 3 militants arrested in Shopian | | | Srinagar April 27 Police today claimed to have busted a militant module active in hill district of Shopian in North Kashmir following the arrest of three persons and recovered arms and explosive besides cash from their possession. Police sources told News Agency of Kashmir that on a specific tip off a search team raided a house at Chowgam village of Shopian area and arrested three persons allegedly involved in militant activities. The accused have been identified arrested as Abdul Majeed Khan, son of Abdul Ahad, resident of Kralpora Bandipora, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, son of Ghulam Ahmad, resident of Pahnoo Shopian and Wasim Jeelani Pandoo, Son of late Ghulam Qadir, resident of Dalgate Srinagar. One hand grenade, five Kilograms of RDX, some illegal posters, indiscriminating material and cash of Rs. 104500 were recovered from their possession. Police has registered a case in this connection and started investigations. Meanwhile, during a joint operation by Tral Police, 42RR and 185 Bn CRPF four UBGL rounds, and 20 AK rounds at were recovered from a militant hideout at Larojager village of Tral area. According to sources the recovery was made from a hide out in the house of one Shabir Ahmad Chopan, son of Qayoom Chopan, of Larojager Tral. (NAK) Pg 3 Two arrested for planting an IED Srinagar April 27(NAK): Police today claimed to have arrested two persons allegedly involved in planting Liquid IED at Tral on April 16. Police sources said that IED had been planted at Tral, on April 16, which was timely detected and destroyed by J&K Police. The IED was in liquid form and designed to explode with the assistance of Mobile phone. In this connection, an FIR No: 48/2007 U/S 3 PSS Act was lodged and investigations taken up. During investigations Police successfully traced the militants who had prepared and planted the IED and arrested them. The arrested persons have been identified as Mir Tajamul Islam son of M. Shaban Mir of Gulshanpora Tral and Bashir Ahmed Shah son of Mohammed Ramzan Shah of Batagund Tral
