| SW department experiencing renaissance | | All districts to have lady vocational centres-Haji Nissar | |
Jammu, April 27
Saying that Social Welfare department is breathing a new life and experiencing a renaissance of sorts in its functioning and achievements, Minister for Social Welfare Haji Nissar Ali today said that every district will have a lady vocational centre and every block a family welfare centre.
Haji Nissar Ali in a highlevel meeting was discussing various measures to reorganize the department so that more and more people get benefited under various centrally and state sponsored schemes being undertaken by the department.
He said that at the moment Srinagar, Jammu, Leh and Kargil have lady vocational centres which provide various trainings in handicrafts and other trades to interested ladies. Such facilities will be given of other districts as well, he said and added that in near future all districts will be having lady vocational centres. Besides this, the existing centres will be modernized by equipping them with latest technology and equipments.
He also assured that all administrative blocks will have a family welfare centre and they will be shifted from time to time from one place to another on rotational basis with a view to extend its facilities to one and all.
Besides others, Chairman Social Welfare Board Mr. G. M. Saroori, Secretary Social Welfare Mr. N. K. Verma, Special Secretary Social Welfare Mr. Muzaffar Ahmad, Directors Social Welfare Jammu/ Srinagar and other officers attended the meeting
