| JKEEGA demands regularization, time bound promotions, transfers | | |
Jammu, Apr 27—
The Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduate’s Association today held a general body meeting in which a plan was put forth to restructure Power Department Department. The association also highlighted the grievances of the engineers working in the department.
According to the plan, JKEEGA has asked the government to reorganize the PDD as there has been an enormous increase in the number of consumers and the power network too has expanded enormously.
JKEEGA also demanded that adhocism prevalent in the PDD department should end and all seniority lists should be finalized and confirmed through PSC. They also demanded that vacancies should be worked out on annual basis and those in seniority should be cleared for promotion at the beginning, so that seniors are not relegated.
Another demand put forth by JKEEGA was the introduction of running pay scales at par with doctors. They also proposed two running pay scales one from JEs to AEEs and others from Xen to CE level.
The electrical engineers have also asked the government to revert to the old procedure of separate recruitment of degree engineers with higher scale and separate seniority.
Speaking during the general body meeting, B B Sen, president of the JKEEGA demanded that risk allowance to PPD employees, adequate security to field staff, provision of convenience facility at MRE sub-divisions, mobile phones for engineers and so on and so forth. The JKEEGA presented these demands before the power minister Rigzin Jora, who was also present on the occasion.
