| Unemployed engineers stage protest rally | | | Jammu April 26 All J&K Unemployed Engineers in support of their demand of early absorption as Rebher-e-Tamiraat today staged a protest rally. The protestors assembled at outside the Press Club of Jammu and marched towards Office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu. Protestor reiterated the demand of early absorption as Rehber-e-Tamiraat on the pattern of Rehber-e-Taleem on contractual bases. Addressing the protestors Naresh Kumar general secretary of the association allegedly said, “the government has adopted a step motherly treatment to them and their demands are still unheard till the day despite the unemployed engineers have started indefinite strike. Further speakers blamed on the government that it is deliberately turning deaf ear to the issues of educated unemployed human resources. They lamented that many trained engineers have attained upper age limit for the government job while many are on the verge of this and further delay would end their hopes to get a job. Speakers said that the years long unemployment has forced many of them into undue frustration for their future prospects despite holing the technical degrees. They also mentioned that many posts are lying vacant and few can be created by timely promotions to in-service candidates but they fail to understand why the government is not clearing backlog and filling vacancies. Besides general secretary of association speakers who addressed the media persons included Suresh Sharma spokesperson; Bharat Sharma; Ravinder Satti; Iqbal Singh and others.
