| DSA-JK criticizes NC-Cong coalition Govt for anti youth policy | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 10: Dental Surgeon Association Jammu and Kashmir (DSA-JK) today held press conference after strike called off to put forth the agenda of strike and current scenario regarding the demands of unemployed Dental Surgeons in the State. Chairman DSA-JK Dr. Pawan Singh Jasrotia said that dental surgeons were on dharna for the past 40 days, where we were on hunger strike for the last 36 days including fast unto death for 8 days and Female dental Surgeons on Hunger Strike for the last 28 days. Letting on their own piteous and grave situation of Dental Surgeons, none from the incumbent NC-Congress coalition Govt. or from State administration was keen to come at dharna place to look up our grievances and demands to address even after we met for many times with the concerned Minister and Govt. representative till now. Previously on 17th of July we met with Chief Minister Jenab Omar Abdullah stating our genuine issues but his response was totally ignoring and negative. CM of the State clearly pronounced the state of sorry to any policy framing regarding the job opportunities to the unemployed dental Surgeons in our State. He said categorically no for further expansion of the scope of dentistry through many schemes like NRHM or School Dental Health Programme in the State whereas the same schemes in the other states of country are running and benefiting the general public for their oral health care. Reciprocating the same attitude towards our genuine demands, concerned Health Minister of the State Taj Mohi-u-Din showed financial implication as a major restraint which is keeping this Govt. in a state of reluctance and so not in a position to engage new Dental Surgeons in the J&K State. The irony of the utterance is such as he said that there is no more need of Dental Surgeons in the Govt. run Dental health sector in the State. Earlier in a press interview Jenab Taj quoted that "about 15 Lacs is the expenditure and 3 dental technicians are required to engage a single Dental Surgeon in the State", responding to their statement Chairman of DSA-JK said that it is totally ruthless and ignorance regarding our demands. He also condemned the facts saying that this huge much sum and 3 Dental Technicians are not required to engage a dental surgeon. Dr. Pawan Singh said that the association appreciated and welcome the assurance given by Mufti Mohammad Syed.
