| Rattle HEP row : Project employees hold meeting with administration, GVK management | | | Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Aug 10 : On the initiative of Assistant Labour Commissioner Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani, District Administration Kishtwar under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan felicitated the meeting between the agitating employees of 850 MW Rattle Hydro Electrical Power project and project management at DC Office Kishtwar. During the course of the meeting various issues pertain to the project were discussed thread bare and the agitating employees represented by Peoples Democratic Party Youth President Kishtwar Mohammad Umar Malik urged upon the District administration Kishtwar and Assistant Labour Commissioner Kishtwar to direct GVK and L&T management to resume the suspended project work with immediate effect and assured that all the workers working in the project will extend their full support for execution of the work. They also demanded that the workers be kept on pay roll of the company and demanded regular disbursement of payments for the period; the work on site remains suspended. They said that there is no law and order problem at work site and added that not even a single incident of violence was reported since the construction of project started. They termed the closure of Rattle Power Project as pre planed and accuse victimization on part of GVK and L&T managements and added that both the managements are playing with the sentiments as well as with the future of the workers engaged in this project. They said that even though all the unions extended its full support to both the companies, but added that despite that they close the work at project site without any solid and reasonable reason. They urged upon DC Kishtwar to intervene personally and address the issues and grievances raised by them.
