| Militants lob grenade at security picket | | |

In the second such incident in as many days, militants today carried out a grenade attack on a CRPF picket in Batmaloo area of Srinagar, a police spokesman said.
He said there was no casualty or damage in the blast which sparked panic in the crowded area of the city.
The grenade was hurled by militants towards a security picket, manned by personnel of 164 battalion CRPF, near Batmaloo bus stand but it missed the target and exploded on the roadside adjacent to the picket, the spokesman said.
This was the second grenade attack by militants in the valley during the past two days. Yesterday, militants hurled a grenade towards a moving security vehicle at Pampore in Pulwama district, killing a woman and injuring 55 people, including a policeman.
No militant outfit has so far claimed responsbility for the two attacks.
