| PDP youth President booked for criminal assault on Journo | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Aug 10 : PDP youth President Kishtwar Mohammad Umar Malik and two others identified as Dilbagh Singh and Ranjeet Kumar have been booked by Kishtwar police for alledgely manhandling and threatening a local photo journalist, following directions of CJM Kishtwar. As per the details available with " Early Times" the complainant Mohammad Imran Shah, a photo journalist with a local daily alleged that he was manhandled by the accused PDP Youth leader and others while he was on his way to his residence. The incident took place the previous day infront of DC office when the accused allegedly stopped the said photo journalist and complained to him about a news item published in the local daily in which the complainant worked. On the bases of the complaint of photo journalist, forwarded by the CJM Kishtwar under section 156 (3) CrPc, Kishtwar police registered an FIR No. 167/2014 u/s 323, 341, 504 and 506 RPC against Umar Malik and others at police station Kishtwar. When contacted SHO Police Station Kishtwar Sameer Jeelani confirmed the registration of an FIR against PDP Youth leader and added that the investigation of the case is going on in accordance of law. Meanwhile reacting to the registration of FIR against him, Mohammad Umar Malik while talking to "Early times" said that the registration of an FIR against him was politically motivated and added that some of his own party leaders were involved in defaming him. He said that the complainant was influenced by his few party colleagues and they papered a wrong case against him. He said that whosoever drafted the news item published in the Urdu daily fed wrong information to the newspaper. It is pertinent to mention that the complainant is working as a subordinate to former Congress Youth President Kishtwar Sheikh Nasir Hussain who had recently joined PDP before party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayed.
