| Samooh Theatre stages play ‘Baldev Khatik | | | JAMMU | APR 30
Samooh theatre group today staged a play and organizes a book release function at K.L. Saigal Hall here today. Samooh Theatre presented a Leeladhar Jogoodhi’s long Hindi poem and soliloquies of Indian and Western Classic plays like Saphocle’s Oedipus, Shakespear’s, Molior’s Kanjoos Othello, Dharmvir Bharti’s, Andha Yug, Mohan Rakesh’s –Adhe Audhure, Surinder Verms’s-Surya Ki Antim Kiran Se Surya ke Pehali Kiran Tak as a solo performance by Dr. Sudhir Mahajan a prominent theatre actor and director of the state.
On the occasion, Prof. Amitabh Matoo, Vice Chancellor Jammu University was the Chief Guest, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages Dr. Rafiq Masoodi, presided over the function. Dr. Agnishekhar, a well known Hindi Poet was the special guest on the occasion. Dr. Rama sharma presented a detailed paper on the play namely .Woh Jo Kho Gaya’ which was released on the occasion. The paper was highly appreciated by the audiences and intellectuals. Prominent writers, theatrist, poets and artists were present on the occasion.
