Jammu | Apr 30 A joint statement after concluding three day “2nd intra J&K Heart to Heart talk” was issued to the press by chairman, Sardar Mohd. Abdul Qayum Khan and the convenor of the talk Prof. Bhim Singh at New Delhi today. As per handout, the statement, reiterates its commitment to strengthen the ongoing peace process between India and Pakistan and assures to facilitate the process. To promote the peace process as it is the time that a general amnesty be granted to all those in jails so that they can start a new life. Those suffering in jails or still present in J&K may be given an opportunity to return home. Coordination committees of the legislators, women and youth be constituted to strengthen and accelerate the heart to heart talk among the people on the both sides of the state. Sardar, Qayum Khan who chaired three day Heart to Heart Talk made a compassionate appeal to the people of India and Pakistan particularly the Parliamentarians, Civil society and all others to support the peace process initiated between India and Pakistan to take it to its logical end. About 24 parliamentarians, academicians, Jurists and intellectuals participated from across the Cease Fire Line and 36 from other parts of the state including, Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, and Kargil. Professors and Muzaffarabad and Jammu University also participated. Sardar Mohd. Abdul Qayum Khan, the Chairman of the ‘Heart to Heart Talk’ interacted with several national and state leaders including the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Dr. Karan Singh, the former Sadar-i-Riyasat of J&K, I.K. Gujral, former prime Minister of India, Union Minister, Prof. Saifuddin Soz, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister of J&K, Omar Abdullah, President National Conference, Mufti Mohd. Sayeed, former Chief Minister of J&K, Muzzafar Shah President Awami National Conference, MK Rasgotra, Kuldeep Nayyar, Justice Rajendra Sachhar, Inderjit, ex MP. Aziz Barni and several others.
