| Jammu people feel politically handicapped : DPP | | |
Jammu | Apr 30 Duggar Pradesh Party (DPP) has strongly accused J&K Pradesh Congress for the enhancement of assembly increase of 25 % seats in both the regions, Jammu and Kashmir, and described it an illegal practice to continue and strengthen the political hegemony of Kashmir region over Jammu. According to press release, DPP said that the connivance of Delhi leadership with Kashmir leadership has made Jammu infructous. Census report of 2001 and the previous ones in Jammu and Kashmir are all unfair, table managed and well planned to discriminate Jammu region due to political bankruptcy of the leadership from Jammu Division, the DPP said. The enhancement of 25% assembly seats in each region is not fair because the Jammu region deserves more seats due to its hilly and difficult terrain as compared to Kashmir region which is already excess seats. Duggar Pradesh Party has also demanded that the leaders of all political parties, small or big should be invited in the meeting convened by the state Government for sincere efforts. Duggar Pradesh Party also demanded that the Legislative Council, Upper House should be abolished and assembly seats should be enhanced at the pattern of North East states with smaller area and Population. The meeting comprised Uday Chand, president, S. Inder Pal Singh, Varsha Suri, Mohd. Ayub Ayan, Ram Singh Kulveer Charak, Hardyal Sharma, Ghulam Rasool Madan Singh, Mangal Dass and Keshav Prashad, all members executives.
