| Bhagat for plying more buses on hill routes | | | Jammu | May 1 BJP State General Secretary and former MLA Bali Bhagat has demanded plying of more passenger buses and matadors on various routes in Jammu region to coup up with the rush of commuters. He expressed serious concern over the shortage of buses and matadors adding that the public has to track on foot between Batote and Ramban as well as Batote-Assar, Assar-Doda, Bhalla-Bhaderwah, Prem Nagar-Thathri and several other areas in different districts since vehicles are not available. He said that despite tall claims of the government of greater road connectivity and speedy development the situation for the people of Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar districts is similar to that of half a century ago when people had to traverse these distances on foot. He said students, patients, labourers and employees are the worst sufferers due to non-availability of vehicles. Bali Bhagat suggested for creating a corpus to provide ex-gratia relief to the tune of Rs. 5 lakh to the next of kin of each killed in road accidents and Rs. One lakh to injured. He also demanded that ex-gratia relief be provided to the next of kin of those who lost their lives in various road accidents including Paddar, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Banihal, Poonch, Rajouri at other places of Jammu region.
