| Bovine smuggling bids foiled in Jammu, Doda | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 22: Continuing its drive, Police today foiled three major attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 13 animals while massive manhunt has been launched to nab the smugglers. Police spokesperson said that the smuggling bids were foiled under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal, Rajbagh and Doda and separate cases stand registered at respective police stations. Reports said that based on reliable information, a police party from Ghagwal Police Station foiled bovine animals smuggling bid here on Thursday. As per reports, Gagwal police nabbed bovine animals laden vehicle (Tata/Bollaro vehicle) bearing registration no JK08D/6412 and rescued five bovine animals. "The vehicle broke naka and rushed towards border side when police party chased and apprehended it, the police said. "In another incident, Rajbagh police led by SHO Sachinder Paul Singh rescued five bovine animals when police party intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no JK08C/4833 carrying the animals at Kotepunu. "Meanwhile drivers of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot, police said. Meanwhile in another similar incident Doda Police rescued three Bovines from BaglaBarath area. "The accused identified namely as GhulamNabi Malik and Jaffer both hailing from Bharat Doda fled away from the spot, police said while adding a case FIR No. 160/2014 u/s 188 RPC , 3 PC Act stands registered at Police Station Doda. |
