| Plus 2 lecturers threatens to intensify agitation | | | Jammu, Aug 07 All Jammu and Kashmir plus Two Lecturers’ Forum has threatened to launch state wide agitation if the state government failed to bring their pay scale at par with their counterparts in the state government.
Addressing a press conference, here today, HD Qureshi, President of the Forum expressed criticized the state government for not extending the benefit of SRO 225 to the plus two lecturers.
He expressed serious concern over the delaying tactics by the authorities at the helm of affairs that despite clear directives from the Stat Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad after a comprehensive meeting with the Forum in the month of January 2006, nothing concrete has been done so far.
The proposal for constitution of separate Directorates was fully agreed by the Chief Minister which is already in existence in the concept of reorganization in the state and also operational in almost all states of the country. However, the directions of the chief minister still awaits the attention of Government functionaries which has not only blocked the promotional channels in the department but also hampered the idea of work culture and accountability, he added.
“The pay anomalies of Principals and higher officers still exist in the cadre which is an unfinished task to be completed and the Forum has kept it on the agenda of its priorities.
Qureshi strongly advocated for he implementation of Government Guidelines for private coaching and stressed that uniform pattern should be kept in force instead of harassing the members of the cadre for none of their fault as not a single person in Plus 2 Cadre is involved in private coaching during working hours.
He highly appreciated the decision of Director School Education D.K. Vaid for release of annual increments for low pass percentage on the proposal of Forum and gave another opportunity to the cadre to further dedicate itself for the improvement of results which is already on the path of “Academic Excellence” that reflects from the results of Higher Secondary Part-II (12th Class) announced during current year which has been raised to 40% as against below 30% during last year with al the top positions in favour of Government institutions. |
