| Over 15.80 lakh pilgrims visits Mata Vaishno Devi | | | KATRA, MAY 01 Over 15.80 lakh pilgrims from various parts of the country have so far visited the holy Cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji since January Ist, this year. During the corresponding period of last year, 16.88 lakh pilgrims had darshan of the holy Cave Shrine. In the month of April, as many as 5,68,256 pilgrims have paid obeisance in the shrine. Presently, 14,000 to 15,000 pilgrims are daily reaching at the base camp Katra town to seek blessings of the deity. Elaborate arrangements have been made by the Shrine Board to provide maximum facilities to the visiting pilgrims at Katra and enroute. The holy cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Deviji located at a height of 5300 feet above sea level in Trikuta hills, 13 km from Katra town is the most revered shrine of the country. It is an ancient shrine whose reference is found even in the Vedas and other ancient scriptures.
