Jammu, Aug 25: Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party with his team visited several villages on the International Border in the RS Pura sector and met hundreds of affected people packed in schools and public places along the border who were forced to flee their homes because of barbaric shelling from Pakistan side. The JKNPP team met the migrants of Nai-Basti, Karoitana and Vidipur, Bhojpur who were scattered on the naked grounds of the local schools without any boarding or lodging arrangements. Prof. Bhim Singh also visited the shattered houses due to shelling from Pak-side only 100 meters away from the border. Nearly 800 Gujjar residents of the area approached Prof. Bhim Singh seeking help of the government to protect their lives and their cattle which are the only source of their income. Almost entire population left at about 8:00 p.m. their houses, in the presence of Prof. Bhim Singh, to some unknown places. They were demanding reasonable shelter for their security and the safety of their cattle. The State government has not cared for the immediate accommodation, boarding or lodging of hundreds of people who have been forced to flee in R.S. Pura and Samba sector. In the meanwhile Panthers Party MLA of Samba visited the border areas and assured the migrants that he would take up this matter in the Assembly today. Prof. Bhim Singh appealed both sides to stop barbaric shelling in the interest of humanity. He blamed the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for provoking Pakistan to do such a criminal act of shelling on the International Border. |
